Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Scriptring ("the Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Services Provided
Scriptring provides human-powered transcription, data labeling, data entry, writing, captioning, and related services, as well as AI-assisted transcription tools. The specific scope, pricing, and turnaround time for each service are described on the Services and Pricing pages.
3. Account Registration
To place orders or submit worker applications you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate, current information and notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
4. Orders and Payment
All orders are subject to acceptance by Scriptring. Prices are listed in USD. Payment is required before work begins. We accept mobile money payments via Eversend for worker application fees. For service orders, payment is collected at checkout. All payments are non-refundable once work has commenced, except where we fail to meet the agreed specifications.
5. Worker Applications
Applying to work on Scriptring requires a one-time, non-refundable $5 application fee that covers the cost of reviewing your test submission. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Scriptring reserves the right to approve or decline applications at its sole discretion.
6. Accuracy Guarantee
Human-powered transcription and editing services carry a 99% accuracy guarantee. If a delivered transcript falls below this threshold, we will correct it at no additional charge. Claims must be submitted within 7 days of delivery with specific examples of errors.
7. Confidentiality
We treat all uploaded files and order content as confidential. Files are stored on encrypted cloud storage and are not shared with third parties. Files are deleted 30 days after delivery unless you request earlier deletion. NDAs are available on request for enterprise customers.
8. Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership of all content you upload. By uploading files you grant Scriptring a limited licence to process, store, and deliver the content solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order. Scriptring retains ownership of its platform, tools, and processes.
9. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Service to process content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or that infringes third-party rights. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform. Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scriptring's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. Scriptring may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, outstanding deliverables for paid orders will be completed; no further orders will be accepted.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Scriptring is registered. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration.
